Honor Introduces Game Pre-Update

Honor has introduced a new feature called Game Pre-Update specifically for mobile gaming users. This feature is rolling out to flagship smartphones. The way it works is simple: when the user is not actively playing games, game update resources are automatically downloaded in the background. As a result, the next time the game is opened, users can start playing immediately without loading screens or manual update prompts.

According to Honor, this feature improves gaming performance, startup time, and overall stability. The technology is powered by an AI-based resource scheduling system that intelligently optimizes battery life, data usage, and performance impact, ensuring background updates are handled safely and efficiently. To enable this feature, users can open Game Center in the Honor App Store and navigate to My Profile > Settings > Automatic Updates, where they can configure Wi-Fi-only or mobile data options. Currently, this feature is being rolled out to Honor flagship series devices.

In the long term, Honor is positioning this as a software-based accelerator feature aimed at delivering a “zero-wait gaming experience” for mobile gamers.
