Rockstar Games has fulfilled a request from a user battling late-stage cancer to try out the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), scheduled for release in October, for the first time. Although the user's name has not been disclosed, a message posted on LinkedIn by a family member gained significant attention, leading to Rockstar Games engaging after the message caught the eye of Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

Anthony Armstrong, a developer at Ubisoft Toronto, made this request on behalf of a family member last month and sought help from contacts within the gaming industry. His message stated, "A family member has been suffering from cancer for many years and has recently received very bad news. His remaining time is estimated to be between 6 to 12 months. He is a huge fan of the GTA series and should have the chance to experience GTA 6 before its release."

Armstrong added, "He lives very close to Rockstar Games' Oakville location, and it would bring me great joy if a special opportunity could be arranged for him to try GTA 6."

Later, Armstrong updated his LinkedIn post confirming that Strauss Zelnick had seen the message and that Rockstar Games had shared "good news." He concluded by saying, "That's all I can say for now, but I sincerely thank you all."

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently planned for release on November 19, having overcome several previously reported delays. When Take-Two announced the new release date, they emphasized their effort to present the game as a cleaner and more complete experience.

Today, an emergency response was called to the Rockstar North office where GTA 6 is being developed due to an incident in the boiler room. Multiple fire crews were dispatched to extinguish the fire. However, Rockstar Games downplayed the incident and confirmed that the office has since reopened.
