Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Upgrades
Tipster reveals 10 major upgrades coming to Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, one of the leading Android flagship smartphones globally, is expected to receive significant upgrades compared to last year's Galaxy S25 Ultra, according to well-known tech tipster @TheGalox_.
Since the Galaxy S Ultra series sets the standard in the Android market every year, the changes in the S26 Ultra could influence the design and specifications of other high-end Android phones in 2026.
According to the tipster, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature the following changes.
A new display with improved energy efficiency
Integrated privacy screen feature
New camera lenses with advanced coatings
Larger apertures for the main and telephoto cameras
Wider lens for the selfie camera
Faster wired and wireless charging
More powerful and efficient processor
New autofocus and sharpness controls for video recording
Faster memory (RAM)
Thinner body design
New M14 OLED Display
Reports indicate the Galaxy S26 Ultra will use M14 OLED technology for its display.
This display offers 20%–30% better energy efficiency compared to the M13 OLED used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, helping to improve battery life. Although it can achieve higher peak brightness, Samsung is primarily focusing on efficiency.
Privacy screen feature: The new display integrates a privacy screen that restricts viewing content from side angles, making it a very useful feature for protecting sensitive information in public places.
Major camera system upgrades include:
Main camera aperture: f/1.4 (larger than the f/1.7 on the S25 Ultra) 5x Telephoto aperture: f/2.9 (improved from the previous f/3.4)
This results in better low-light photography with reduced noise and more natural photos.
Through new Camera Assistant features, Samsung phones will be able to soften the over-sharpened look and manually control video autofocus transition speed.
For video recording:
Fast Transition (Snap Focus) – ideal for sports and action scenes
Slow Transition (Rack Focus) – to achieve a cinematic look
Faster charging and battery upgrades
The Galaxy S26 Ultra:
Will move beyond the 45W charging limit
Is reported to support 60W Super-Fast Charging 3.0
This means:
The battery can charge from 0% to 50% in less than 15 minutes
Battery capacity:
Will exceed the 5000mAh limit held for 6 years
Expected to be between 5100mAh and 5400mAh
Surprisingly, despite the larger battery, the phone:
Could be thinner, down to 7.9mm thickness
Making it slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Ultra (8.2mm)
Processor and memory
The Galaxy S26 Ultra:
Could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
Using either TSMC's 3nm process or Samsung Foundry's 2nm “For Galaxy” version
Regarding RAM:
Since LPDDR6 is still in early stages, it is expected to use ultra-fast LPDDR5X (10.7Gbps) RAM
This will increase AI processing speed by 25% and reduce issues like shutter lag
Launch timeline
Reports suggest the Samsung Galaxy S26 series may be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event held in San Francisco at the end of February 2026.
