Meta Delays Phoenix MR Headset

Tech News a month ago 12646 Views

Meta has decided to delay the launch of its latest Mixed Reality (MR) device, Phoenix, until 2027. Although it was originally planned for release in late 2026, Meta states that the delay was necessary to ensure the device is fully refined and functions accurately before entering the market. This Phoenix MR device, also known internally as “Puffin,” weighs around 100g. Its display resolution is lower than high-end mixed reality devices such as the Apple Vision Pro, but it delivers a hybrid experience that combines Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), blending the real world with digital elements.

For example, users will be able to see 3D digital objects floating inside their real physical room. In addition, it will support viewing around 3 to 5 virtual screens at once. Without the need for a laptop, users can create large floating displays, including virtual screens close to 100 inches in size.
