iPhone Duo Arriving in Two Weeks

The iPhone Duo, or the latest Foldable iPhone, is set to be released in just two more weeks (October 23). First announced at the iPhone 18 Pro keynote on September 9, the iPhone Duo can be described as Apple's first foldable smartphone.

Shaped like a passport, the iPhone Duo largely resembles the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. It features a 5.4-inch screen for viewing when folded, and unfolds to reveal a larger 7.6-inch display. A key highlight is its Apple Pencil support, which allows for an experience similar to using an iPad.

The screen is protected by Apple Ceramic Shield 2, while the other glass parts are safeguarded by Ceramic Shield 1, promising enhanced durability. Additionally, the hinge and related technology currently used by Samsung can also be seen here. Furthermore, the iPhone Duo is the thinnest smartphone Apple has ever made.

One standout feature is the under-display selfie camera, which means there is no notch or cutout visible on the inner display. Also, due to the small screen next to the camera, the rear camera can be used as a selfie camera.

The main difference between the iPhone Duo and other foldables is its software experience. The iPhone Duo offers an enhanced iOS experience, giving it a distinct feel compared to standard iOS. It will be available starting at $1999 and can be purchased in Star White and Night Sky colors. Upon launch, the price in Sri Lanka is expected to be around Rs. 900,000, and after some time, it will be possible to buy it for approximately Rs. 800,000.
