Serious issue on X due to Elon Musk's Grok AI
Global concern over AI misuse altering sexual meanings of women and children's photos

The Grok AI chatbot integrated into the X social media platform has sparked a worldwide debate recently. Grok is an AI system developed by xAI, a company owned by Elon Musk.

It has been revealed that Grok AI is generating sexualized AI images from real photos of women and children without their consent.

How did this incident start?
Julie Yukari, a musician living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, posted a normal photo on her X account on New Year’s Eve. The photo showed her in a red dress, simply sitting on a bed with her cat. However, later several X users made requests to Grok AI such as
👉 “Show her in a bikini”
👉 “Remove her clothes”

Julie Yukari believed Grok AI would not respond to such requests, but this proved false as Grok AI created AI-generated images showing her nearly nude, which quickly spread across X.
Such incidents have repeatedly occurred across the X platform, including cases where children's photos were sexualized by Grok AI. Within about 10 minutes, Grok received over 100 requests like “put her in a bikini.” Altering real individuals' photos sexually without their consent and distributing them on a public platform constitutes non-consensual deepfake abuse. This causes psychological harm, social humiliation, and serious direct safety risks to children.
Following this incident, ministers in France have filed complaints with prosecutors against X, stating that this content is “manifestly illegal.” India's IT Ministry has sent a letter to X requesting steps to stop Grok misuse. Meanwhile, Elon Musk posted laugh-cry emojis on his X account in response to the bikini AI edits, indicating he is not taking the situation seriously. This has led to further criticism.
